Does The Body By Vi Challenge Really Work?

Since starting the Visalus Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge, I receive calls on a daily basis from interested consumers who would like to know more about the program.

The Number one question that I am asked is this - Does the Visalus 90 Day Challenge really work?

My answer is a resounding YES! The Body By Vi Challenge DOES Work!!

My story is not unique to hundreds, maybe thousands of other people out there, who have struggled with issues of weight, and how to lose it, and keep that dreaded weight off.

When I started the 90 day challenge, I was extremely heavy. In fact, my doctor had told me that if I didn't start losing weight, I was in danger of jeopardizing the health of my already fragile kidneys.

Some of my weight issues could be attributed to the fact that when I had my daughter in 1994, I had extreme complications during my pregnancy, and ended up hospitalized with a severe case of preeclampsia. My kidneys had shut down completely, and they were forced to take my daughter by emergency C-section.

My daughter was 2 pounds 1 ounce when she was born, and after her birth, my daughter and I literally fought for our lives. I hadn't even had an opportunity to hold my beautiful baby girl.

After a very long and hard night, a nurse came in and told me that I needed to be there to raise my daughter, and if I wanted to have the chance to do this and to hold her, I would need to calm down, to relax. She asked if she could lay her hands on me, and I agreed.

I didn't know it at the time, but this angel was praying for me when she laid her hands on me, and immediately after she opened her eyes, she told me that I was going to be ok, and to trust God.

Within minutes, my kidneys began to function, and all of the water that I had been retaining began to flush out of my body, and my blood pressure began to lower to normal levels.

As a result of the kidney failure during that time, I spill protein, which means that my body does not adequately store enough protein to support lean muscle mass.

I tried diet after diet, only to become discouraged and disillusioned as the pounds would come off, and then return with a vengeance.

When I was introduced to the Body By Vi Challenge, I was a skeptic, to say the least. I had been there and done that with every diet under the sun, and I had absolutely NO faith that these tasty shakes would change a thing for me.

Well - I have lost OVER 100 pounds to date, and I'm still losing!

When this picture was taken, I was a size 26, and 276 pounds.

Here is my first 90 day challenge outcome - taken New Years Eve - Dec 31, 2010

As of this photo, I was down 87 pounds - and had gone from a size 26 to a size 12.

I started a new 90 challenge in January, and will be posting the results on March 31, 2011. I am living proof that this awesome program works.

I can't begin to tell you how awesome a feeling it is to have people tell you that you look fantastic, and that they are SO proud of you. What's even better, is that I am PROUD of what I have been able to accomplish - but I can't take all the credit for my journey, alone.

-Have a plan before you start, because without strategy and without goals then you don’t fully understand the techniques you’re using or why you’re using them. You’ll have no clear destination in mind so you won’t know where to stop, where to change directions or when success has been reached.

-Create measurable, obtainable goals that make sense. It does you no good to just say “we want a lot of local followers” or “we want to increase conversions”. Get specific and be realistic about what you’re looking to do within social media. Think short term.
-Stay consistent with your messages. Changing lanes too often will cause you to lose your followers and those who remain won’t remain interested or engaged. Keep your eyes on target and send your messages at that target at all times. If you’re aiming for the bullseye what good is it to shoot at the sky.

DON’T

-Be pushy. No one responds well to forced messages and pushy attitudes. Remember the transparency of social media. There are more people watching you than you know.

-Spam social networking sites with your social media marketing. No one cares about your product, service or company. Remember that.

-Try to sell anyone. Your selling belongs in the showroom, in your store. You don’t corner people in the supermarket and try to hard sell them on your products. Why do it in social media? This is their place, not yours.

If you put your ear to the ground you can hear something. It’s the dull crackle of fire dying away. The heat rolls back as frost seems to slowly take hold. The noise dies down, the fear slips away.

I think hell is starting to freeze over.

As I look at companies engaging followers in social media there is a sincere outreach and the companies are actually listening to people. In the past few weeks, I have received an ever increasing amount of calls, and many of the nice folks that I speak with have the same question, "Is this a legit work from home job?"

I need to let people know that while the business that you decide to do is important, ultimately it is the people that you surround yourself with that is MOST important.

There are work from home jobs that offer traditional employment, and a traditional paycheck, however, I choose to work for myself, and utilize the skills I possess to put money in my pocket, as opposed to the companies bank account.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this is the realization that I can make as much money as I want, or as little as I want, but I do it with the liberating knowledge that I do it for me and for my family.

I understand that the traditional thought process of a legitimate job is one that challenges many when they look at the work at home realm and decide whether it is for them or not.

It was that very thought process that kept me in the Corporate world for so long. It took me surrounding myself with others who were self-employed, to realize that I am NOT the person that Corporate America wanted me to think I was.

Corporate America wanted me to think that I would not survive without them.

It took me being challenged by those who were successful and free from that mindset to show me that that simply was not, and is not true!

If you recently lost your job due to downsizing, you must remember this - that while there are scams out there, the majority of work at home jobs that require you to embrace an entreprenuerial mindset, that require that you work HARD but reward you financially are not scams.

A simple but true bible verse comes to mind - if you don't work, you don't eat.

Find a work at home job that matches your skills and what you are passionate about - and the more you succeed, the more legitimate that work at home opportunity will be.

"Just Show Me That You Trust Me!"

There are times that regardless of how hard I try to stay positive, I begin to look at my circumstances, and my faith begins to waiver.

In these times, I begin to rely on the word that is hidden in my heart, and when I begin to take my eyes off of God, I hear his words in my head, and they are a great comfort to me.

I have been blessed with some truly wonderful friendships in my life, friends who have called and emailed me, somehow knowing that I needed a word of encouragement, love and support. I am truly grateful for their kindness and prayers, and marvel at how awesome it is to have a God who can truly align hearts and like minds.

John 13: 34-35 says this: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Thank you for the love that you have shown to me, for your caring and concern, and for your prayers.

I just wanted to leave you with this illustration of faith that I received while I was praying this morning.

I have been hearing the Lord tell me that all that he requires of me at all times is to " Just Show Me That You Trust Me."

As I was meditating on these words, God showed me two perfect illustrations of what it means to truly trust him.

Our children are a wonderful reminder of the true faith that God calls us to have.

Think about the unwavering faith they have in us when they are very small. Our words are law to them. I learned a long time ago to be very careful with the promises that I would make to my children, because they had such faith in those promises. And like dear children, they had no shame in reminding us of those promises. In fact, they had no reservations in continually asking us to fulfill the promises that were made to them, and absolute faith that we would carry out and deliver what had been promised.

I also remembered a time when my daughter was very little. She had a "thing" about jumping off of high places. She loved to climb on the couch and jump off. Climb, climb, climb is what she would do all day long if I would allow her.

One night as I was preparing dinner, she motioned for me to pick her up. Not skipping a beat, I scooped her into my arms and continued with what I was doing.

After a while she began to squirm and wanted me to put her on the counter top so that she could sit and watch as I unloaded the dishwasher. Without thinking, I placed her on the counter top and as I turned away, I realized "Oh No! She's going to try to jump off" so I spun around and saw that, while she had been considering it, she was afraid to jump because it was too high.

My husband walked in around that time, and saw that my daughter was keeping me company in the kitchen. Walking over to my daughter, he held his hands out, and motioned for her to jump. Hesitant at first, I watched as my daughter looked at the distance from the counter to the floor, and then to her Dad.

This went on for several minutes, as my husband tried to coax her to jump into his arms. Finally, my husband said "Don't worry, I'll catch you!" and with that, my daughter STOOD UP and leapt without any fear.

How many times has God gently told you "Don't worry...I'll catch you"?

13People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.
14When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

16And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

A person with child like faith means believing that God can absolutely do the impossible. In fact, it means having faith in God, the way that our children believe in us.

That we can do anything!

We must believe that he can do all things, according to his word.

Even as I write this, I hope that this message will encourage someone else to STAND UP AND JUMP WITHOUT FEAR. He WILL catch you.

He caught me.

Based on a true story, this story takes place in the summer of 1976, and Vince Papale is a 30 year old bartender, who is down on his luck, and running out of options.

His wife leaves him, telling him that he'll never amount to anything, and that he will never make a name for himself.

The new coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Dick Vermeil announces that he will hold open tryouts for the team, and at the urging of his friends, Vince reluctantly answers the call, having no college football experience, and having played football for only a year in high school.

Overcoming almost impossible odds, Vince makes the cut, and goes on to play three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.

While I watched this movie with my family, I thought about the many people in Real Estate and the mortgage industry, who are trying to make a living, and are making it, overcoming obstacles that look impossible to others.

What sets those people apart, from the ones that are leaving the industry, and looking for work elsewhere?

Is it determination? The drive to succeed against all odds?

When Vince Papale made the Philadelphia Eagles, he had an opportunity to achieve something that many have dreamed of, but have never achieved. When the big day arrived, and it was time for him to stand and deliver, he froze. He could have blown the opportunity of a lifetime, and could have been cut, but he wasn't.

Coach Vermeil believed that Vince Papale had something that he could build a team around. What was it that made Coach Vermeil decide to put his neck on the line for someone who didn't have the background, the experience, or the finesse of the finest athletes he could have chosen to play for the Philadelphia Eagles?

What Vince Papale had was guts, and heart. Despite the fact that the veterans on the team refused to accept him, despite the fact that he was told to quit numerous times, Vince Papale persevered.

Just like professional football, our industry is not for the faint at heart. It is one thing to take a hit, and get tackled in a friendly neighborhood game of touch football, but the hits get much harder at a higher level and standard. The talent, the skills, and the competition for the successful in any industry are at a higher standard than the average.

In my last post, I talked about the mindset for success.

What I wanted to cover today requires a little thought on your part, as well as a willingness to be truly honest with yourself about what truly motivates you.
What drives you to want success?

Is it fame, or fortune, or the thirst for true financial freedom?

Have you ever wondered what might be lurking in your past, that could be preventing you from finding the success you desire in your life?

Let me tell you a story.

It's a story about me, and how I realized that the way that I viewed success and money was actually hurting my chances for ever really acquiring what I sought to achieve.

I grew up with a pretty nice life. My Dad worked hard, and my Mom stayed at home and took care of us, my brother, sister and I. We did pretty well, actually, and I can't remember a time during the years that my Mom and Dad were married that we really struggled financially.

That all changed when they divorced. My mom was left with three children to raise, and no marketable skills. So, knowing that she had to provide for us, she went back to school to become a nurse.

During that time, we went from always having to always wanting. Don't get me wrong, my mom did a really awesome job of providing for us, given the circumstances. With that said, it was still hard at times to deal with the cruelty of kids, who laughed at my second hand clothes, and my raggedy shoes.

I realized a lot later in life that my images of wealth and success were formed during these years, and drove me like an obsession to never be in that position again, to never be looked upon in that way, never to be poor, and never to lack.

It was only when I realized what my true "why" was, that I began to make a conscious effort to stop standing in my own way.
I have had true success in my life, and that success has come from dedicated hard work. What I lacked was the true happiness that I craved, and tried to bring into my life through the acquiring of material things.

Material things will never make you happy, until you make a spiritual connection with the true "why" in your life.

The reason I wanted success more than anything else, was that I wanted to rid my self of the image I had of myself during the years that we struggled financially.

I wanted to be so far the opposite of how I viewed myself during that time; a poor nappy headed kid from the wrong side of the tracks; that I was killing the joy of actually being what I most desired. That was my true "why".

How I made one small change that made a difference in my level of achieving success and financial freedom was this; I had to change the way I viewed my past.

I had to realize that everything good and bad that happens to us, happens for a reason.

I know I would not be the person I am today, had it not been for adversity, and struggle in my life, and that the experiences that I had to go through were no reason for shame.

I made a shift in my thinking with regard to how I viewed my past, and it removed the biggest obstacle I had faced in my pursuit of financial freedom; me.

I challenge you to examine your life, your motives and what drives you to want success in your life. Once you find the true "why" in your life, and learn to embrace that, you've made a huge leap toward obtaining any goal that you want for your life.

Success in network marketing is all about a mindset, and how you feel about having true success in your life.

Every one wants to be successful, right?

Or do they really?

Network marketing is a profession, and as Dani Johnson states, it should be treated with the respect it deserves. Too often people view network marketing as a get rich quick scheme, and that just is not the case.

If you are in the network marketing business for the long haul, for the big picture, this industry is for you. It is a slow process of building, refining, building and refining.

Quite honestly, Network Marketing isn't for everyone. It's hard work, it can be grueling at times.

And you must be able to re-energize, shake off a bad day, and do it all over again the next, with a smile.

Here is a little treat. I use this video to remind me of what the bigger picture is in my industry.

There is now an increased demand for qualified travel agents, due to the explosive growth of the industry as a whole. To become a certified travel agent, your options are not limited to the traditional brick and mortar setting.

Many reputable travel agencies are now offering attractive options for the individual looking for a legitimate home based business.

If your goal is to work as an independent travel agent from the comfort of your own home, you may want to consider working as an online travel agent.

Here are some companies that you can research, that offer excellent income opportunities and complete training. Please note, that many travel companies that actively recruit agents to work from home, will hire their agents as employees.

There are also travel companies that recruit independent agents. This option will offer the agent the freedom of being self-employed, and the ability to set their own hours.
To take advantage of this option, be aware that there will be an investment required. The ability to make money will be solely at the discretion of the agent who chooses to invest in this business model.

On a positive note, many agents who have invested in this business model are making a very nice income, so be sure to research this option before ruling it out.

Travel companies that currently offer the independent agent business model include TraVerus Travel Network, Global Resorts Network, and Your Travel Business, also known as YTB.

Make sure to do your due diligence! Be sure to research each company carefully, and make it a priority to fully understand the compensation plan. You will also need to know what training is available, and whether the company will offer you the opportunity to become certified.

Don't be afraid to ask important questions, such as whether the company has IATA(International Air Transport Association), IATAN (International Airlines Travel Agent Network), and CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) Credentials. This is important information to know, especially if you intend to take advantage of the travel perks and benefits available to those in the travel industry.

Here are some questions to ask - What is the initial investment, if any? Are there any additional costs or fees associated with obtaining licensing, or becoming certified? And finally, if you are considering a work at home position, what kind of support and training is offered?

Next, determine whether you a right fit for the travel industry. Lets break down the qualifications that will determine whether you are suited for this challenging, but rewarding career.

Travel agents should have a minimum of a high school diploma. Agents should have a true love for travel,as well as a sincere enthusiasm and love for working with people, because these traits are crucial elements for success in this industry.

Travel agents should also possess excellent multi-tasking and organization skills. Attention to detail and accuracy are very important, along with great communication skills. In addition, good computer skills will be needed. Travel agents should possess a professional, courteous demeanor when working with suppliers, and the general public. Sales ability and great interpersonal skills are an added plus.

The benefits of becoming a travel agent are many. I have listed the top three.
Travel agents save up to 80% on travel to many of the worlds exclusive resorts and destinations. These discounts include, but are not limited to:

FAM trips, also known as familiarization trips. Suppliers will offer access to their facilities at substantial discounts so that travel agents will have first hand knowledge of their facilities. The travel agent will then be able to make recommendations and book travel for their clients based on their personal knowledge and first hand experience.

The supplier will roll out the red carpet for the travel agent to ensure the travel professional has an outstanding time.

There are also tax benefits for individuals who chose to do this profession as an independent travel agent. You should consult with your CPA or tax professional for more information regarding this benefit.

Building your Network Marketing or home based business requires advertising, but if you are like me, you ventured into this lucrative market because you needed to earn more money not spend it.

The experience I had when first starting out was not pleasant. It seemed that every time I turned around, I had to re-invest the little bit of money I had earned to advertise for more clients, and in the end, I just wasn't getting ahead. I was going broke.

If you are not careful, you can spend your hard earned profit, before it has been earned.

There simply is no way to get ahead and turn profitable if you have to spend your hard earned money on advertising, especially when you are just venturing out.

How do you get ahead, if you can't keep up with the "big boys"?

The best way to get started with advertising is to utilize every free resource that is available on the internet. I would caution you to stay away from ad blasters and "safe - lists" because you will spin your wheels. It just isn't efficient to send your email message to lists that don't get read, and what's worse, you'll end up getting a ton of spam email, and phone calls from people trying to sell you their product.

What you need is a step by step guide to show you how to build your business without spending a ton of money to get results.

Here is how I did it, and saw incredible results with my travel website. I have been able to utilize these techniques with great success, and the results have been so good, that I have passed these techniques down to my downline, and have watched them duplicate the results I have achieved.

A couple of the sites that I use are Adlandpro , Epage Classifieds as well as Inetgiant classifieds.

This is a completely free resource, so stay focused, and don't spend money!

Your Network Marketing/MLM Opportunity is an awesome one, but are they teaching you to recruit utilizing "old school" techniques?

Network marketing has been an industry recognized by many successful and well known entrepreneurs, such as Donald Trump and the best selling author of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" Robert Kiyosaki, as the "Perfect Business".

Many who venture into this profession truly do have the potential for building a fantastic income.

The harsh reality is however, that most network marketers fail - in fact the statistic is 97%.

With the introduction of the internet, a perfect marriage was met between the network marketing professional and their access to high quality prospects.

Why then, do many successful network marketing companies still teach recruiting techniques that date back to the 1950's?

My experience was truly no different. I've been at the Network Marketing game for a very long time, but to be honest, I failed at every single one.

It was only when I found the true reason that most network marketers fail, and sadly, it's not because they haven't worked hard at trying to succeed.

It took me hours and hours of researching the top professionals in the Network marketing industry to find out that most of these top earners were doing the same thing - throwing out the old methods and techniques, and incorporating techniques and strategies that not only were building their businesses quickly and efficiently, but each one of these top professionals also had one key element that stood out...

Their prospects were coming to them, and asking to join their downlines.

WHAT? How was this possible?

I just couldn't imagine that all of the years that I had been doing what I had told to do, dragging my friends and family members to one hotel meeting after the other, passing out business cards to any one who dared to glance in my direction,
writing list after list, filling out memory joggers ad nauseum, could have been the wrong thing to do. But it was.

And my advice is that you stop doing it too. Please don't get me wrong, or hear what I am NOT saying. The methods that you have been taught, are still being taught, because they do work. However, the problem that many network marketers face when trying to take their business to the next level, is what direction to go when the "warm leads" turn cold.

After failing at the last venture, I had decided that, clearly I didn't have what it took to be successful in the network marketing profession, and I swore to never get involved in another network marketing opportunity.

Never say never my friends.

When the opportunity to get involved with my travel business fell into my lap, I decided that I would put all of my painstaking research to use, and I have never looked back. In fact, I have been able to build a fantastic business, and teach my "community" or downline the same techniques so that they could duplicate my success, and teach their community to duplicate, and so on and so on.

Stop buying leads! Stop Cold Calling!

My mom always use to tell me that "the definition of crazy, is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results."

How does Direct Response Marketing Work, and will it work for me?

The best way I can explain it, is to look at a profession that I know very well, having had a very successful, and lucrative career in the Yellow Pages industry.

Yellow pages advertising is a sneaky, but brilliant formula. Most people use it without realizing what motivated them to pick up the book. They just know that they need something, and they call someone from the book to buy it from.

In essence, the prudent business owner who places an ad in the yellow pages, has placed himself there to be an option, when a client needs their product, or service.

The yellow pages is an advertising medium where BUYERS are seeking SELLERS, and the beautiful thing is, almost 90% of the time, that buyer has a checkbook or credit card in hand, ready to make the purchase. The buyer comes educated because the research has already been completed. The decision to buy has already been made, so the phonebook is simply directing the buyer to a business to complete the transaction.

This is called directional advertising, and because it works so well in comparison to other forms of advertising, the yellow pages remains a healthy and profitable business, even with competition from the internet.

Direct Response Marketing is very similar. Using this method will allow the prospect to get educated about what you have to offer, and when they are ready, they call or get in contact with you to join.

It's that simple.

Do the research, and find a direct response method to implement. if you're not sure, implement it along with the current methods you use, and watch your recruiting efforts improve. dramatically. It worked for me, and it will work for you.
